Grooming in Hot and Humid Weather

• Frequent Brushing: During hot and humid months, regular brushing is essential to remove excess fur, which can trap heat and moisture. This is especially important for long-haired breeds. For dogs and cats with double coats, like Golden Retrievers or Huskies, brushing helps remove the undercoat and reduces shedding.

• Bathing: Bathing in the summer isn’t just about cleanliness—it helps to cool your pet down. Be sure to use a pet-safe shampoo to prevent skin irritation. After a bath, make sure your pet is thoroughly dried, especially in humid conditions, to prevent mold or mildew from forming on their fur.
